SoCal Newspapers
For the pilot episode of ABC's Not Dead Yet, another graphic designer created the masthead and front-page layout for the fictional SoCal Independent newspaper. When that designer was unavailable for subsequent seasons, I took over as the graphic designer responsible for producing the newspaper featured throughout Seasons 1 and 2. Utilizing these assets, I created additional newspaper pages while maintaining the visual identity and editorial structure already in place. Preserving consistency was essential so the publication would appear seamless and authentic across episodes and seasons.
I expanded the newspaper to include additional sections such as Metro and Life & Style, designing layouts that followed the existing typographic hierarchy and grid structure. I also contributed to the editorial presentation by assisting with headline writing and selecting supporting stock photography. In addition to the article layouts, I designed several in-world advertisements, including the Pasadena Food Truck Festival promotion and a SoCal Independent subscription advertisement, helping build out the visual world of the publication.
